MechVisual guidance system uses a pan-tilt unit to hold a targeting laser. The laser illuminates a spot on the surface of the target object and then a dot matrix laser paints grid.

A Revolutionary Robotic Vision Guidance System developed by MechVisual Inc. is transforming material handling and other industrial automation applications. Traditional robotics systems require expensive and lengthy setup using external reference points. The MechVisual system is non-calibrated and provides guidance in three-dimensional space for 6 axis robots.

To identify the location of the robot arm and target objects, the MechVisual system uses a clever technique of "painting" the objects with a set of visible lasers. The camera system analyzes the image created by the lasers and calculates their three dimensional position. A Directed Perception pan-tilt unit allows precise and rapid control of the targeting and dot matrix lasers.

After trying other robot solutions to palletize empty bag tubes, the largest container corporation in the US turned to MechVisual.
